TAGLIT

Taking A Good Look at Instructional Technology (TAGLIT) was developed under the direction of Dr. Sheila Cory for the Principal Executive Program (PEP), a component of the University of North Carolina's Center for School Leadership Development. The assessment was originally designed for use by North Carolina school leaders participating in PEP's professional development program, "Principals as Technology Leaders."

From 2000 to 2004, TAGLIT was adopted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as an assessment tool in its State TEchnology Challenge Grants awarded to schools in all 50 states.

Today TAGLIT is administered by T.E.S.T., Inc. The focus of T.E.S.T., Inc. is to provide a quality online assessment system that adapts to meet the changing needs and requirements of schools.

The system has been reconstructed with enhancements to include self-directed registration and management, additional reporting features, and updated assessment questions that align with the National Education Technology Standards (NETS). In the near future TAGLIT will include even more assessment tools which are currently being designed to meet the every-changing needs of the educational community.
