TAGLIT teachers do not have administrative responsibilities unless they are designated by a school administrator to do so. All teachers take the TAGLIT assessment, and often administer the assessment to their students.
The Basic TAGLIT assessment consists of questions that were developed at the University of North Carolina Center for School Leadership Development and later adopted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for implementation in its State Technology Challenge Grants awarded to schools in all 50 states. This version of TAGLIT has been available to schools since 2000.
The Teacher Basic TAGLIT assessment is divided into the following 10 sections:

The TAGLIT Essential Assessment is designed for school leaders in the following job-roles:
superintendent and executive cabinet
district-level leaders for content-specific or other district programs
campus-level leaders including principals and assistant principals
This assessment is divided into sections and are aligned to the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Teachers . This assessment includes questions from the Basic Assessment as well as questions that explore specific skill sets related to the national technology standards for teachers.
